Collin College Hires ACARI Management Group For Bond Program Contractor Outreach Services

November 14, 2017 – Collin College has engaged the services of ACARI Management Group, Inc. of Arlington to provide contractor outreach services during its master plan construction program.

ACARI Management Group will work to educate the contracting community on how to do business with Collin College and to increase the pool of firms bidding for projects. ACARI President Jollyn Mwisongo said the firm will foster an environment which will increase participation and utilization of Historically Underutilized Businesses, including, but not limited to minority-, veteran- and women-owned firms.

"We are proud to be part of Collin College's initiative to increase the pool of qualified bidders at all stages of bond program procurement," Mwisongo said. "We believe that expanding such a pool by targeting and engaging minority and women's advocacy groups will increase bidding competition, and will result in better pricing for the project."

Mwisongo also said her company is pleased to be working with AECOM, the college's bond program project manager. She noted that her firm has worked successfully alongside AECOM in past bond programs with other institutions.

Collin College serves more than 53,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates in a wide range of disciplines. The only public college based in Collin County, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which serves 3,200 additional students each year in partnership with the University of North Texas, The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman's University, Texas A&M Commerce and Texas Tech.
