Collin College Lady Cougars Break NJCAA Top 25

December 7, 2017 – Collin College's Lady Cougars basketball team ranks 21st in the nation, according to the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Div. I Women's Basketball Poll released Dec. 5. The ranking continues a tradition of excellence by the team, which has won its conference for three years in a row.

The Lady Cougars sit atop the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference with a 10-1 record and most recently defeated Eastern Oklahoma State College on the road, 101-46. Team and individual stats are available at or by contacting the Collin College Public Relations Office.

In addition to the national ranking, the team has had three NJCAA Region V Players of the Week this season. Jordynn Hernandez, a 5-8 freshman guard from McKinney, took the honor for the week of Nov. 5-11. Jazmine Jackson, a 5-10 freshman forward from San Antonio, was named Player for the Week of Nov. 12-18. Ashtyn Beal, a 5-8 sophomore guard from Tyler, was designated a Co-Player of the Week for Nov. 26-Dec. 2.
