Collin College Opens Applications For Board Of Trustees Vacancy

Collin College Board fo Trustees Meeting RoomDec. 13, 2017 – The Collin College Board of Trustees is seeking applications to fill a board vacancy for Place 2. Nancy Wurzman, who served in Place 1 for six years and was elected to Place 2 in May, resigned this month due to relocation.

According to Dr. Bob Collins, Board of Trustees chairman, Wurzman provided exemplary vision and leadership to the district, calling on her passion for students to work tirelessly to support new programs and services focusing on educational excellence. In her role as a board member Wurzman supported the passing of a $600 million bond proposal to facilitate a long-range plan to accommodate the projected population growth in Collin County over the next two decades.

Applying for Place 2
To be eligible for consideration for the Board of Trustees, candidates must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter and a resident of Collin County for six continuous months and the state of Texas for 12 continuous months prior to the date the appointment is made. The selected candidate must be willing to commit to reside in Collin County for the duration of their appointment and be available to attend monthly meetings.

The selected individual will be appointed to serve until the next regular election of the board, which takes place in May of 2019. The individual who wins in 2019 would serve the remainder of the Place 2 term. Place 2 expires in May 2023. Trustees can serve an unlimited number of elected terms.
