Elaine began her career with Collin College in 1989 as a part-time Advisor.  In 1991, she became full-time in her current position as the Career Center Coordinator at the Central Park Campus.  Prior to joining Collin College, Elaine enjoyed a variety of careers including: owner of a small fashion boutique, licensed Commodity Pool Operator, and an artist for a gallery on the square in downtown McKinney.

Elaine received a BA degree from the University of Texas at Dallas while her three sons' were still at home. She is a Master Certified Practitioner for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Certified Interviewer, Development Dimensions International and member of Leadership McKinney Chamber of Commerce.

Her suggestion to students is be flexible, outside your comfort zone, take action early in your career planning process. Employers look for well rounded individuals with good "soft" skills - communication skills, ability to work in a team, strong work ethic, leadership, problem solving, technical skills, and self-confidence.
