Collin College's Teacher Certification program (TCP) is an innovative, flexible and high quality program to prepare the most qualified, diverse and effective teachers in Texas.

Teachers trained at Collin College are educating children in more than 40 school districts in Texas and have a 99% success rate on state certification exams.

The TCP at Collin College is accredited by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and meets the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements for alternative pathways to teacher certification.

The Teacher Certification Program (TCP) is ideal if you have a bachelor's degree and are seeking to:

  • Change careers

  • Return to the workforce

  • Reenter the workforce after retirement

All prospective applicants are required to attend an information session (pre-registration required) OR meet with a teacher certification program advisor before applying to the program. Current application packets, training requirements and fee structure will be available at the information session or during advising.
