ELMT 1301 Programmable Logic Controllers
An introduction to programmable logic controllers as used in industrial environments
including basic concepts, programming, applications, troubleshooting of ladder logic,
and interfacing of equipment. Lab required. Prerequisites: CETT 1409, CETT 1425, and
ELMT 1305. 3 credit hours. (W)
ELMT 1305 Basic Fluid Power
Basic fluid power course covering pneumatic and hydraulic systems, fluid power symbols,
operating theory, components, and basic electrical and manual controls. Lab required.
Prerequisite: TECM 1343, or MATH 1316 or higher-level math. 3 credit hours. (W)
ELMT 2339 Advanced Programmable Logic Controllers
Advanced applications of programmable logic controllers as used in industrial environments
including concepts of programming, industrial applications, troubleshooting ladder
logic, and interfacing to equipment. Lab required. Prerequisite: ELMT 1301. 3 credit
hours. (W)
ELMT 2480 Cooperative Education - Electromechanical Technology
Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization offered
through an individualized agreement among the college, employer, and student. Under
the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning
with work experience. Includes a lecture component. Contact the Associate Dean/Director
for more information. Prerequisite: Consent of Associate Dean/Director. 4 credit hours.
