I love showing my students how to achieve their own personal style of design. There is nothing like helping students get that wow’ factor.
Michelle Rider is one of only a few instructors, who gives style points.
She teaches interior decorating and Feng Shui with interior design with Collin College’s Continuing Education division.
“I love showing my students how to achieve their own personal style of design. There is nothing like helping students get that wow’ factor,” Rider said.
Rider’s a huge player in the marketing and management field where she’s developed strategies for companies like Calvin Klein, Kaiser Permanente and Coca-Cola. She’s taught at the University of California at Berkeley Extension and currently serves as director of marketing for United Healthcare.
However, Rider also owns Inspired Redesign, an interior decorating company that takes on residential and commercial jobs. She is currently on the leadership board of the Interior Design Society and is an I.R.I.S. Certified Interior Decorator.
“I discovered a long time ago that you never know as much as you think you know,” Rider said. “Life is full of surprises and it is up to us to be curious enough to embrace new things. It is easy to stay at home and do nothing, but the moment you engage with others, or take on a new project, take that class you have always wanted to take, or even challenge yourself, you realize the only way you can grow is through learning.”
