Thank you for participating in the 27th Annual North Texas Drama Auditions.
The auditions are now closed and callbacks have begun. We look forward to seeing everyone in Fall 2021.
Stay tuned for more information!

North Texas Drama Auditions (NTDA) is a nationwide audition organized, facilitated, and run by the Theatre Department at Collin College for high school seniors and junior college students looking to move into a BA or BFA program at four year institutions.  Students will have the opportunity to be seen by many institutions across Texas and the nation, who come to recruit for their programs (see a list of 4 Year Institutions who have participated previously, below). This is an amazing opportunity for students and programs to get connected with universities around the country.  Thousands of students have found their next program by auditioning through NTDA.  This year each high school/junior college program will be able to submit 5 actors and 5 tech/design to attend auditions through submitting videos (see details below).  We are proud to say that this is the 27th year we are hosting these auditions.

This year we are excited to create a virtual event (due to the current public health crisis) that will still do what NTDA is set up to do: connect students with programs from across Texas and the nation and support students in moving on to the next steps of their creative journey in the theatre!  North Texas Drama Auditions this year will be an opportunity for students to learn to use technology that is becoming standard in the theatre industry.  We will be providing the same high-quality auditions but moving them to a virtual platform. All communication will be virtual.

The Faculty and Staff of Collin Theatre Center
give you a warm welcome to participate in this year's event!

The Process

The high school teachers and college professors will be
our point of contact for all applicant submissions.
No self-submissions directly from parents or students will be allowed (per usual for NTDA).

1 Each participating high school or community college will receive from Collin Theatre Center a PDF registration form for recommending up to 5 acting applicants and/or 5 technical applicants.  Register here.
2 Once the registration forms are received, participating high school or community college teachers will receive application and information PDFs that they will forward to their students. The information includes an application, instructions and links on how to record and submit their video audition, a checklist, and a photo/video liability waiver form that each student applicant will be required to sign.
3 Each applicant will submit a self-tape (video audition) to their teacher or coach which will be forwarded to Collin Theatre Center staff. The video audition must be in either .MP4 or .MOV format. Actors and Actor/Singers will have 90 seconds to perform their selections. Timing begins after their introduction. Tech/Design students will have 4 minutes to showcase their talent.
4 Collin Theatre Center staff will compile a digital audition book that includes each student’s application and audition number, which will be made available on the Collin OneDrive to the participating colleges and universities on the morning of Friday, January 8.
5 The OneDrive files will stay available through Wednesday, January 20 at midnight, and will be closed completely on January 21.
6 The participating schools and universities will be responsible for reaching out to individual actors for callbacks and interviews starting January 18.
