Schedule Selection & Degree Planning
Time of Day Classes are Held
Classes are offered mornings, afternoons and evenings. We do have a week-end college. We also offer web courses, flex entry, and express classes.
Advisors at all campuses can assist students in course selection. A copy of the student's class schedule can be printed from CougarWeb under the "Student Quick Links" section and clicking on the "My Class Schedule" link. A student may also receive a copy of their class schedule by presenting their photo ID at the Admissions and Records Office or the Academic Advising Office at any campus.
Changing a Schedule
During open registration students may change their schedules online through their Cougarweb account up until the 4th day of the fall or spring semester, and the 1st day of a minimester or summer semester. Students may drop classes online before census without a letter grade posted to their transcript. After census a student can withdraw online from classes up until the last day to withdraw date and they will receive a "W" letter grade on their transcript. Students should contact the Cashier's office regarding refunds and payment process.
Degree Plan Request
Students seeking a degree plan can go log into CougarWeb and Select the Cougar Compass Audit feature under the Student tab to run their current degree plan or select a series of “What If’s” for alternate programs. All current classes in progress, completed or needed to finish the degree plan are within the Cougar Compass audit.
Changing Your Major
To change your major, log into your CougarWeb account and under the Home Tab select REQUEST CHANGE OF MAJOR. Select the Catalog Year and a Program and hit Submit. You will receive a response via your Collin email account or you can run Cougar Compass Audit to see if the change has been made. It is recommended that students speak to an advisor before they declare or change their major.
Evaluation of Credits from Another Institution
The student will need to have an official transcript from each college they attended in the United States sent to Collin's Admissions and Records office. All official transcripts must be received by the registrar's office before an evaluation request can be processed. Log into your CougarWeb account and under the Home Tab select REQUEST TRANSFER CREDIT EVALUATION. Students will receive notification via their Collin email account when it has been completed. Students can speak to an academic advisor if they are seeking credit evaluation information.
