‘Empower Me: A Celebratory Performance’ Explores
The Struggle to End Violence Against Women
March 10, 2016 – The Dignity Initiative will present “Empower Me: A Celebratory Performance” in conjunction with Collin College’s fine arts department, 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, March 24 at the Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center. The show will include dance, poetry, prose and song, all centered around the challenges and triumphs in the struggle to end violence against women.
The show will include performances by the Collin Dance Ensemble and vocalists from the pop group OneSound, illuminating topics like domestic violence, sex trafficking, impact on families with small children and the fight for the respectful treatment of women. The performance will focus on the many challenges that women face, their journey to overcome these challenges and their ultimate triumph. The dance program is choreographed by Tiffanee Arnold and the vocal performance is directed by Kathy Morgan.
Spring Creek Campus is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
