The Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program at Collin College offers FREE services for adults who qualify!

AEL is a Texas Workforce Commission program that helps adults 19 and older who are seeking career growth improve their basic skills. The program can assist you or a family member in basic skills (reading, writing, math, and English),  English as a Second Language (ESL), General Education Development (GED), career growth and job training. Collin College has been awarded a grant to provide services and expand the AEL program.

Steps to Register

Accepted Form of Identification (must be valid and not expired):

 

U.S. Passport
State-issued Driver’s License or ID Card ( Any U.S. state and no limited-term IDs accepted)
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Employment Authorization Document (EAD)

Must have Social Security Card presented with additional documentation.

Orientation

 

Every Tuesday at the Technical Campus and Thursday at the Frisco Campus

 

Walk in are not permitted. Please call or visit us for more information.

Please bring the following items to your orientation:

 

1. Accepted Form of Identification (must be valid and not expired):

  • U.S. Passport Only
  • State-issued Driver’s License or ID Card (Any U.S. state and no limited-term IDs accepted)
  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
  • Must present Social Security Card at check in

2. Your XID Number:

  • Have your XID ready and available for check-in.


3. Important Guidelines:

  • No children are permitted during orientation or testing.
    (Please make childcare arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.)
  • All orientation sessions will be conducted in English to ensure consistency and equal access for all participants.

 

If you are under the age of 19, please call us at 469-365-1952 for additional requirements.
