    Student Receives National Honor
    Apr. 9, 2014 - Collin College student Lilliam Alexa Acosta of Plano has been selected as one of only 20 students nationwide to be named a 2014 Phi Theta Kappa Guistwhite Scholar. Each Guistwhite Scholar is awarded a $5,000 scholarship to pursue undergraduate studies. Acosta is one of only five students from Texas to receive this prestigious award, which is based on academic achievement, leadership accomplishment, and engagement in Phi Theta Kappa.  She was also named to the 2014-15 All-USA Academic Team and All-Texas Academic Team of Phi Theta Kappa....[MORE]

    Passport to the World: An Archaeological Legacy

    Two Collin College Students Make National Headlines With Scholarly Honor
    Apr. 8, 2014 - Today in Washington D.C., Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society named two Collin College students, Michelle Davis of Allen and Alexa Acosta of Plano, to the exclusive 2014 All-USA Academic Team. On stage, Davis and Acosta joined 18 college students from across the country who were selected from more than 1,700 nominees. The program is widely recognized as the most prestigious academic honor for students attending community college.
