Application Process for Current Students

Please note: We will be unable to accept paper applications.  

In order to be eligible to apply, students must have the following:

1. Collin College Student ID (CWID)
2. Valid email address (CougarMail email preferred)
3. GPA of 2.5 or higher
4. Maintain at least 6 credit hours per semester

Please be prepared to provide essays and other general information. 


  Application Process for New Students to Collin College

In order to obtain a Collin College Student ID (CWID), you will need to complete a Collin College admissions application and be accepted as a student prior to applying for a scholarship. This process may be lengthy, so start as soon as possible. For more information visit

Continuing Education Students (For Students ENROLLED or ENROLLING in the Continuing Education Program)

The Scholarship Application for the Steve Hardy Continuing Education Scholarship will open on January 30, 2017 for the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 academic year. Veterans, ESL students or those who are unemployed or in unexpected career transitions receive special consideration. Funds must be used for ESL classes or Career, Workforce or Technology courses.


Application Process for Transferring Students (open 1.30.2017 through 3.26.2017 ONLY)

Are you transferring from Collin College to a four-year institution? Do you have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least 50 credit hours? If so, you may apply for the LeBrecht-Hites Transfer Scholarship. This $6,000 scholarship is awarded to one applicant per year and paid out over four semesters. In order to apply, please complete the General Application, but answer the "desired field of study" question with "LeBrecht-Hites Transfer."



Application Process for SMART Scholarships (open 1.30.2017 through 3.26.2017 ONLY)


SMART Scholarships are open to students majoring in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or Computer Science AND transferring to UT Dallas. In addition   to completing the online application form, SMART Scholarship applicants are required to submit two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably from a teacher, professor or guidance counselor.
