Academic Planning Coach Program

Thank you for your interest in the Academic Planning Coach Program!

The Academic Planning Coach Program is designated for first-time in college students for the 2023-2024 academic year.

What is the Academic Planning Coach Program (APCP)?

The APCP is a First Year Experience (FYE) program providing guidance and support to our traditionally underserved first-time-in-college students by connecting them to crucial campus resources to help them achieve their academic and career goals.  The program centers on students who identify with one or all of the following criteria: first-generation, men of color, or any other underserved communities.  A first-generation college student is a student whose parents or legal guardians have not completed a college/university degree or college certification in the United States. Participants in the program will:

  • Receive individual guidance and advice from your personal Staff or Faculty Coach and Academic Advisor to help you achieve your academic and career goals.
  • Learn new skills and how to access the tools that will help you complete your degree efficiently and on time.
  • Explore the many resources available to you as a student on our campuses and online.
  • Participate in early advising and class registration which allows you to confirm your schedule before everyone else!

Plan YOUR Future

Based on your interests and goals, your coach can help you explore possible career paths, degree plans, and/or transferring to a university. Our coaches and advisors are trained to help you navigate your own unique journey.
