EMT/Fire Science/Paramedic Assessments are given at the McKinney Campus Testing Center in McKinney. 

EMT/Fire Science/Paramedic applicants must take assessments in Arithmetic, Reading and Writing. 

Candidates must meet the minimum score requirement on all assessments to be eligible for the Physical Ability Test.

The minimum scores for EMT, Fire Science, and Paramedic are as follows:

  • Reading: 250
  • Arithmetic: 250
  • WritePlacer: 4

These assessments are administered on a walk-in basis. Please allow three hours to take the combined assessments. NO calculators are allowed during the test.

These assessments may be taken twice in a semester, if needed. If retaking an portion of the assessment, a 24 hour waiting period is required.
