Announcement: Solicitation of Third-Party Comments

Collin County Community College Dental Hygiene Program wishes to announce that the
Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA)
will be on campus Nov. 9 & 10, 2021 conducting a site visit for the continuing accreditation
of the Dental Hygiene program.
The United States Department of Education requires that when a Dental Hygiene program is scheduled for review that an opportunity for third party comments is provided. Third party comments may include comments submitted by interested parties such as faculty, students, program administrators, Commission consultants, specialty and dental related organizations, patients, and/or consumers. Such comments must pertain only to the standards that guide dental hygiene programs, or the policies and procedures used in the Commission's accreditation process.
The program standards/policies are accessible via the ADA website; www.ada.org or may be obtained by contacting the Commission at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611, or by calling 1/800-621-8099, extension 4653.
The deadline to receive comments in the Commission office is 60 days prior to the site visit. The comments must pertain only to the standards for the particular program or policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process. The comments must be signed. Signatures will be removed from comments prior to forwarding them to the program.

The mission of Collin College Dental Hygiene Program is to promote lifelong individual growth and excellence through strengthening the intellect, character, and capabilities of each dental hygiene student. The Dental Hygiene Program, within the available resources, will provide the highest standards of care to meet individual and community needs.
About Our Program
The Collin College Dental Hygiene program is an Exemplary rated two-year program that begins in the fall semester of each year. Dental hygiene classes are scheduled at the Central Park Campus in McKinney. Enrollment is limited and admission is competitive. Admission to Collin College does not imply or guarantee admission to the Dental Hygiene Program. The program application deadline is 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 15, 2021. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is eligible to sit for national and regional licensing examinations.

Hands on Education
As a student of our program, you will receive instruction in hand and ultrasonic instrumentation, fluorides, non-surgical periodontal therapy, oral hygiene instructional education, traditional and digital radiography, current uses of dental materials and dental software technology within a state-of-the-art dental setting.
Professionalism is of the utmost importance for our program. If an applicant displays unprofessional behavior at anytime during the application process, their application will be revoked immediately.
