AEL is a Texas Workforce Commission program that helps adults 19 and older who are seeking career growth improve their basic skills. The program can assist you or a family member in basic skills (reading, writing, math, and English), English as a Second Language (ESL), General Education Development (GED), career growth and job training. Collin College has been awarded a grant to provide services and expand the AEL program.
Steps to Enroll

- Go to Modern Campus and make your account.
2. Get Your XID Number
- After you make your account, you will receive an XID number.
(Example: X000000)
3. Upload Your Documents
- Upload all eligibility documents (ID) to your Modern Campus file.

Just fill out our Interest Form below, and we’ll contact you as soon as new orientation
sessions become available in your area.
Please bring the following items to your orientation:
1. Accepted Form of Identification (must be valid and not expired):
- U.S. Passport (top and bottom portion of the book or card)
- State-issued Driver’s License or ID Card ( Any U.S. state and no limited-term IDs accepted)
- Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- Military ID (may require a second form of ID)
- Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
- I-94
2. Your XID Number:
- Have your XID ready and available for check-in.
3. Important Guidelines:
- No children are permitted during orientation or testing.
(Please make childcare arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.) - All orientation sessions will be conducted in English to ensure consistency and equal access for all participants.
