BAT Admissions Information

Admission to Collin College's BAT-Cybersecurity is selective and requires an additional application process. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the BAT-Cybersecurity program. To be eligible to apply for admission to the BAT-Cybersecurity program, candidates must have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Cybersecurity from a regionally accredited educational institution or be enrolled in their final semester of courses to complete the AAS Cybersecurity at the time of application to the BAT-Cybersecurity program.
 
Since Fall 2026, the program has transitioned to an application-based, selective admissions process. Students will apply during designated application periods for either Fall or Spring entry terms (no summer admissions).  
 
For Spring 2027, the BAT in Cybersecurity program will admit a cohort of 100 students. 
 


Spring 2027 Admissions Application Timeline:  

Applications Open: Friday, August 28, 2026
Applications Close: Friday, October 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. (no exceptions) 
Acceptance Notifications: Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Entry Term: Spring 2027 Semester

Class Registration: Admitted students will be able to register for spring 2027 classes if they qualify for priority registration online in Workday on October 26th
 


Collin College Student Applicants-Steps to Apply: 

  1. Complete the BAT Cybersecurity Admissions MS Application Form
  2. Upload a copy of transcripts from all prior college/universities, if applicable
  3. Sign and upload the required Ethical Obligation Form
  4. Upload IT/Cyber certifications (if applicable)
  5. Upload a resume that includes the following sections in this order: 
    1. Summary
    2. Skills
    3. Education (list current cumulative GPA under the Education section)
    4. Industry Certifications (if applicable)
    5. Projects
    6. Experience (industry employment and/or military experience)

*A resume template is available. Once you download the document, you must save as your own version to make edits.

Please note:  Applications can only be submitted once; any additional documentation to support your application must be sent to GoCyber@collin.edu by 5 pm on Otober 21st. No late applications or documentation will be accepted after the application deadline.  
 


What to Expect: 

All applications will be holistically reviewed by the Cybersecurity Department and applicants will be notified of their status (acceptance or non-acceptance into the program) on or before October 21, 2026.   

Incomplete applications or ineligible applicants will be notified and directed to work with the Workforce Programs Coach and/or Student Enrollment Services to devise a plan to complete the requirements necessary to be admitted to the BAT Cybersecurity program in future terms. 

 

 
Transfer Student Applicant- Steps to Apply:   

Prior to applying to the BAT in Cybersecurity program, you must be admitted to Collin College and have a CWID number. 

  1. Complete the BAT Cybersecurity Admissions SurveyMonkey Application Form
  2. Upload a copy of transcripts from all prior college/universities. Pending graduates will be conditionally accepted until AAS cybersecurity degree is conferred.  Official transcripts with a conferral date are required by the payment deadline of the spring 2027 semester.
  3. Sign and upload the required Ethical Obligation Form
  4. Upload IT/Cyber certifications (if applicable)
  5. Upload a resume that includes the following sections in this order: 
    1. Summary
    2. Skills
    3. Education (list current cumulative GPA under the Education section)
    4. Industry Certifications (if applicable)
    5. Projects
    6. Experience (industry employment and/or military experience)
