Program Information


  • Basic math skills
  • Mental maturity and development to work daily with high-voltage electrical, combustible gases, power tools, refrigerants, and various chemical agents
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time in one place
  • Capability of lifting up to 60 pounds repeatedly
  • Reaching, bending, and working with intense heat/cold

The HVAC program operates on a cohort model. A cohort is a structured class time and schedule where you will begin your classes in your first semester in a group with other students and progress together as a team through the program. To develop a good HVAC skill set, you must participate as a full-time student and complete all designated courses within a semester.

 

Class times for fall and spring semesters:

  • Morning: Monday-Thursday, 8–11:50 a.m.
  • Afternoon: Monday-Thursday, 1–4:50 p.m.
  • Evening: Monday-Thursday, 6–9:50 p.m.
  • Weekend: Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m.–2:50 p.m.

Class time for the summer semester:

  • Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m.-3:50 p.m.

 All HVAC courses are held at the Collin College Technical Campus – 2550 Bending Branch Way, Allen, TX 75013

Lab Tours

Are you interested in visiting the HVAC labs? Tours are offered on the first and third Friday of each month at the Collin College Technical Campus at 10 a.m. Email us to reserve a spot!

Note: An additional lab fee is included with tuition.


Students are required to purchase a uniform to wear during class, tools, and personal protective equipment. These essentials can be purchased at a Collin College Bookstore or other suppliers. Textbooks can be accessed through an online subscription, which will be provided upon registration.


Step 1: Apply to Collin College

 

Step 2:  Once you complete admission, you will be issued a username and password for CougarWeb and a campus-wide identification (CWID) number.

 

Step 3: Email HVACTechnology@collin.edu for registration instructions and include your name and CWID number.
