Committee of 100 Logo

History

The original Collin College Committee of 100 was made up of active community leaders and volunteers who successfully led the April 6, 1985 ballot referendum to establish the Collin County Community College District.

Fast forward to today, the Committee of 100 remains actively engaged with the college’s long-range planning, bringing key leaders together on a biennial basis to honor our past and plan for the future as our region continues to face significant growth.

Destination 2030

Through the creation of the Master Plan Steering Committee, the Committee of 100 reconvened in 2026 to evaluate the college's long-term growth and provide strategic input on staff recommendations for the Master Plan, known as Destination 2030. Over the course of four meetings across two months, committee members reviewed the college's districtwide facilities assessment, labor market trends, high-demand academic and workforce programs, financial outlook, and the college's economic impact on the region.

Bond 2026

Based on the committee’s findings and input, the Collin College Board of Trustees called for a general obligation bond election during the August 7, 2026 meeting.
