Free Musical, Art Events Planned Through April, May

April 12, 2022 Collin College welcomes the public to an art exhibition and free concerts throughout April and into May. Community members are encouraged to come to see the caliber of artists and musicians attending the college.

The following events are free and open to the public, although reservations are encouraged for events in the Plano Campus John Anthony Theatre. Reservations can be made at https://collin.universitytickets.com/. Events in The Art Gallery, also at Plano Campus, do not require reservations.

  • Forces 2022 exhibition View photographs and other artistic works created by students, faculty, and staff who have contributed to Collin Colleges annual Forces journal. Event: Now-April 14 in The Art Gallery
  • Symphonic Winds Ensemble and String Ensemble concert The concert will feature traditional and contemporary works for orchestra and band. Event: April 14 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • OneSound concert Award-winning student a capella group OneSound will wow the audience with their unique arrangements and choreography of current pop songs and hits from the past. Event: April 22-23 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • Honors Voice and Keyboard Ensemble concert The Honors Voice portion of this program features elite vocalists from the vocal studios of Collin College performing operatic arias and art songs to showcase their accomplishments for the semester. The Keyboard Ensemble will present works by Holst, Saint-Saens, Brahms, and others on two pianos for eight hands. Event: April 26 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • Guitar Ensembles concert Collin Colleges award-winning One OClock Guitar Ensemble will perform a program ofLatin American and newly composed works, featuring cello and the button accordion.Event: April 27 at 7 p.m. in The Art Gallery
  • Jazz Combos concert This concert will feature the Collin Jazz Combo PM and Jazz Combo Too with works from multiple styles, including swing, bebop, fusion, and Latin. Event: April 29 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • Jazztet and Jazz Lab Band concert This concert will feature the Collin Jazztet and Jazz Lab Band with works from multiple styles, including swing, bebop, fusion, and Latin. Event: April 30 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • Dances at 7 This end-of-semester dance concert celebrates the work of all Collin College dance students. The Dances at 7 concert features performances by students enrolled in modern, jazz, ballet, tap, and ballroom dance studio courses. Tickets will be available at the door and online. Event: May 2-6 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • New Music Ensemble concert The New Music Ensemble will present a concert of original works by Collin College student composers focusing on contemporary experimental music. Event: May 3 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
  • Solo Guitar concert This guitar recital will feature students performing classical guitar solo works from the Renaissance to the present day. Event: May 4 at 7 p.m. in The Art Gallery
