BRPT RPSGT STAR Self-Study Program

The BRPT RPSGT STAR Self-Study Program (SS014) through Collin College Continuing Education is designed to assist those sleep centers/labs outside of the Collin College service area with didactic training for new sleep technologists. The program consists of seven courses of instruction that are offered fully online.

 

There are a number of ways this program can be used for eligibility to sit for the CPSGT and RPSGT exams.

 

For the CPSGT Exam:

  • Pathway 1: Pair this program with 416 hours or more of clinical time, including time spent doing direct patient scoring and/or recording.
  • Pathway 3: Pair this program with a BRPT STAR-designated Focused 2 program.

 

For the RPSGT Exam:

  • Pathway 1: Pair this program with 1,638 hours of clinical experience that includes on-site polysomnography duties performed as direct patient recording and/or scoring.
  • Pathway 4: Pair this program with a BRPT STAR-designated Focused 2 program and complete a minimum of 819 hours of clinical experience that includes on-site polysomnography duties performed as direct patient recording and/or scoring.

Program Total Cost = $1,325

 

Each semester, there will be 16 week and 8 week options to complete each course's contents. A minimum grade of 75% must earned to pass each course. Once all courses within the program are completed, a certificate of completion will be provided to show the student has completed the program. This certificate will used as part of the student's application process for the CPSGT/RPSGT exam.
