Take the first step toward your Texas A&M University engineering degree by applying for the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College. Offered in partnership with Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering, this unique program offers admitted students an opportunity to start their Texas A&M engineering degree as a co-enrolled student at Collin College. Students save money and enjoy smaller class sizes by taking Texas A&M engineering courses at Collin College before transitioning to Texas A&M to complete their degree. Why the Academy?

The Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College gives admitted students the opportunity to:
  • Start as a Texas A&M College of Engineering student from day one
  • Take Texas A&M engineering courses taught in-person by Texas A&M faculty at the Collin College Technical Campus located in Allen
  • Learn alongside a cohort of Engineering Academy students
  • Join student activities and organizations at both insitutions
  • Save money through an affordable pathway to a Texas A&M engineering degree
  • Apply for early entry into a degree-granting major within the College of Engineering at Texas A&M
  • Transition to Texas A&M after one to two years of being co-enrolled at Collin College and Texas A&M

Eligibility

To apply, you must:
  • Be a Collin College student (or apply for admission)
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be precalculus ready (as determined by Collin College) by meeting at least one of the following:
    • Earn college credit with a grade of A, B, or C in College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, or Calculus I
    • Score a minimum of 255 on the College Level Math (CLM) exam
    • Score a minimum of 61 on the ALEKS exam
    • Earn qualifying College Algebra, Precalculus, or Calculus credit through a College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam
    • Score 3 or higher on AP Precalculus, Calculus AB, or Calculus BC
  • Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative college GPA (if you’ve taken college courses)

If you are not already a Collin College student, you must apply to Collin College to be considered for the program. Current Collin College students may begin with Step 2.

  • Students who have earned college credit for College Algebra or above with Collin College:
    • Skip to step 4.
  • Students who have NOT earned college math credit:
    • Submit official or unofficial scores that meet the eligibility criteria OR a transcript showing eligible math credit from another college or university via email. Official scores/transcripts will be required at a later date if admitted.
Email Your Scores
  • Texas A&M will begin sending application links on December 1 to students who have pre-qualified.
  • Complete the Texas A&M application and submit all requested documents by June 1, 2026.
  • Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive either an acceptance letter or a denial letter via email from Texas A&M.

Enrollment and Registration

After submitting the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College application, successful applicants will receive an offer of admission from the Engineering Academy.
  • Admitted students will receive instructions on how to accept their offer and register for ENGR 102.
  • Students must also meet with the Engineering Academy advisor at the Technical Campus located in Allen to register for the required Collin College courses (see step 5 above).

Financial Aid and Fees

Tuition and fees associated with the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College program are handled separately by Collin College and Texas A&M. Students are billed by each institution based on the number of credit hours taken, respectively. Learn more about each institution's requirements:
