Collin College's Commercial Music program can prepare you for a career in any aspect
of the music industry, including audio engineering, production, business and management,
commercial music composition, and live sound!
See our brochure and College Catalog for course details. With a number of degree paths to choose from, you can study what interests you and be on your way to a fulfilling career in one of today's most exciting industries. Degree paths include:
Associates of Applied Science:
A two year Associates Degree that covers a broad spectrum of areas within the commercial music field. Students can choose an areas of specialization including: Audio Engineering, Music Business and Merchandising, Songwriting, and Live Sound.
Music Business Certificate
A one-year program of study that focuses on the skills necessary to be successful in the business side of music, and includes courses such as Music Marketing, Live Music and Talent Management, and Concert Promotion and Venue Management.
Audio Engineering Certificate
Studio Track and Live Sound Track
This one-year program of study focuses on the skills necessary to successfully work in the music industry as a Recording and Mixing Engineer or Live Sound Engineer.
