Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Collin

The Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging program at Collin College is a comprehensive, four-semester program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in nuclear medicine. The program combines rigorous coursework in areas such as radiation physics, radiopharmacy, and clinical procedures with hands-on training through clinical internships at affiliated healthcare facilities. Students will gain proficiency in imaging technology, patient care, and radiation safety. Upon completion, graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and are eligible to sit for national certification exams. The program offers transfer pathways for students pursuing further education and prepares them for careers as nuclear medicine technologists in hospitals, clinics, and research institutions.
Accreditation status:The Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging program at Collin College is a new program seeking initial external accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine (JRCNMT). Accreditation is a multistep process that includes submission of program documentation and completion of a site visit. The program will be actively engaged in the initial accreditation review process. Accreditation is not guaranteed prior to the graduation of the first cohort; however, this does not prevent a student from sitting for the ARRT(N) board exam upon successful completion of the program.
