GED Test Preparation

Collin College's GED test prep course prepares students to in each of the four GED subject exams: mathematical reasoning, reasoning through language arts, social studies, and science.

Upon the successful completion of the entire GED test, the State Board of Education will issue a State of Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency to individual GED test takers. Only the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is authorized to issue a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE) in Texas.

Follow these steps to earn your Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency:

  1. Choose your course from the GED course schedule.
  2. Register over the phone at 972-985-3711, or by email at CEHELP@collin.edu.
  3. Schedule your test at a GED test center near you.

Textbooks and testing fees are additional. Exams will be taken through an official GED test center near you.  Centers are located throughout the metroplex.

Test takers, colleges, and employers obtain certificates with GED test scores and verification letters directly from the Texas Education Agency.
