Marketable Skills and Benefits

Skills that you can achieve include estimating damage, repairing dents, replacing parts, analyzing structural damage, and refinishing vehicles. In addition to earning marketable skills, industry equipment training, stackable certificates, and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, completers will earn industry-recognized I-CAR certifications and prepare for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.

Degree Plans

The program offers Level 1 certificates in Paint Technician or Metal Technician, or a Level 2 certificate which combines both Level 1 certificates. The AAS degree in Collision Technology includes all the Collision Technology classes, along with five general education classes.

Apply and be accepted as a Collin College student through Apply Texas before following any steps below.

 

1. Applicants must have a CWID Student Number.

 

2. Official transcripts from all previously attended schools must be submitted to Admissions at Collin College.

Once all steps above are completed and all registration holds are cleared, the department will issue you permits to register for classes.

 

Please note: Permits will be issued until there is no more space in classes. If you receive a permit and do not register and/or get dropped for non-payment, you may potentially lose your spot. If you do not attend orientation, permits will be removed and given to the next student.

Toyota CRR Elite Program

The college also offers specialized training with Toyota named the Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair and Refinishing (CRR) Elite Program, which will give you the opportunity to become Toyota and Lexus certified in refinishing and repair. You will learn how to work on these two brands and earn a Level 3 Enhanced Skills Certificate in Toyota Collision Technician.

To qualify for the Toyota and Lexus CRR Elite program, you must transfer 30+ hours from a previous Collision/Auto Body Repair program. If interested, contact Maria Rodriguez (mariarodriguez@collin.edu) or Marcus Godinez (mjgodinez@collin.edu) for assistance.
