Program Overview
Ready for a career in the veterinary field?
Graduates of this Veterinary Technology (Vet Tech) Program will be trained in numerous aspects of the veterinary industry. From preventive to emergency care, our students will have the opportunity to develop and advance their skills in client education, administration of medications, laboratory diagnostics, surgical assisting, dental cleanings, anesthetic monitoring, and problem solving.

Program Information
Information sessions give prospective students an overview of the Veterinary Technology Program, the admissions steps, and the overall role of the Veterinary Technician in the workplace, along with job roles and median salary.

Please keep in mind that the total cost is for the ENTIRE program.
High School students that are looking to apply for the Vet Tech program, should consider completing the pre-program courses while they are in high school. High School students can complete the Vet Tech pre-program courses as dual or concurrent credit. Courses that can be completed while in high school is listed below.
- English Composition I (ENGL 1301)
- College Algebra (MATH 1314)
- General Biology for Science Majors (BIOL 1406) NOTE: The biology course must be for science majors, non science majors courses are NOT accepted.
- Humanities/ Fine Arts course *
- Social & Behavioral sciences course *

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology is offered at the Wylie Campus. The Vet Tech Program is 5 semesters.
