Attire Dress Code
Caps and Mortarboards

Caps are worn so the mortarboard is flat on top of the head, parallel to the floor, and not tilted to any side. The inside of the cap shows which side is the front and which side is the back. The tassel should be worn on the right side.

You are encouraged to decorate and personalize your cap. Decorations should lay flat on the mortarboard and not hang off the sides. No profanity or explicit images will be permitted. If decorations are deemed inappropriate, the college may ask you to remove the cap and purchase a new one from the bookstore.

Clothing and Items

Suggested attire is business casual with dark pants, dresses, dark shoes, and minimal jewelry. Extended periods of walking or standing will be required, so comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.

Any item that cannot be concealed under a graduate's gown should be left with a guest or in the graduate's car. A small purse, such as a cross-body purse, that can be concealed under the gown may be allowed.

Gowns

Graduates earning associate degrees or certificates wear blue caps and gowns while graduates earning their bachelor's degrees wear black.
