The singers of the Collin College Opera Workshop invite the public to the college’s annual Madrigal Dinner Feast, an evening of vocal music and Renaissance dinner theatre, including a four-course meal. This family-friendly experience will take place in the Wylie Campus Conference Center at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets are $42.
“Collin College’s talented performers will weave a heartwarming tale of holiday cheer and revelry in honor of our beloved Queen Elisabette, alongside her collegiate singers and players,” said Casey L. Carter, discipline lead and director of Vocal and Opera Studies at Collin College. “This enchanting evening is not just a meal — it’s a festive celebration filled with joy and community. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!”
Carter promises “laughter, beautiful music, sword fights, and lively dancing, creating a truly magical atmosphere for guests of all ages.”
Attendees are encouraged to immerse themselves in the festivities by wearing their favorite period costumes, although weaponry is prohibited. The four-course dinner menu features a fresh mixed-greens salad and roasted fall fruits and berries, followed by a winter squash and roasted apple soup. For the main course, guests can choose between a vegetable gratin entrée or a roasted herbed chicken entrée. The grand finale of the meal is a decadent spice cake drizzled with sweet vanilla bean crème anglaise paired with steaming wassail, tea, and water.
Tickets must be reserved online by Monday, Dec. 1 at noon and may be purchased at https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=MTQGxfLX20isYurqouC__MhbO1CQf8VNu_sOmf3AEthUQldINDIzRUxGNlY1UEtITUhFWlNUNkdaMy4u&route=shorturl. Tickets will not be available thereafter or at the door.
