Join Collin College for a showing of and discussion about “A Wrinkle in Time” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the McKinney Campus Conference Center. The screening and subsequent panel discussion are free and open to the public.
“A Wrinkle in Time” follows the journey of Meg Murry, a teen who embarks on a journey to locate her missing father, a scientist who has been trapped in a dark universe. Meg travels through space and time with the help of three mysterious beings: Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who. Meg learns about the power of love, courage, and self-acceptance while the film explores the theme of good versus evil. “A Wrinkle in Time” follows this year’s Auteur Film Series overall theme of the “Allegories of the Cave.”
The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before each screening and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse.
The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited.
