Today, Collin College announced the appointments of Dr. Garry Evans as provost of the Plano Campus and Dr. Kyle Bellue as provost of the Wylie and Farmersville campuses, effective June 1.

These appointments follow the retirements of two respected college leaders, Dr. Sherry Schumann, provost of the Plano Campus, and Dr. Mary McRae, provost of the Wylie and Farmersville campuses, who will conclude their service effective May 31. To support continuity, Dr. Evans and Dr. Bellue will work closely with Drs. Schumann and McRae during the transition period.

“Strong campus leadership is essential to delivering an exceptional student experience,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, district president of Collin College. “Dr. Evans and Dr. Bellue bring proven experience, steady leadership, and a shared commitment to the college’s student-first approach. I am confident they will strengthen their campus communities and help advance Collin College’s mission districtwide.”

As campus provosts, Dr. Evans and Dr. Bellue will provide strategic leadership for academic and campus operations, supporting instructional quality, student success initiatives, and strong collaboration with faculty and staff.

“Collin College is a place where opportunity and rigor go hand in hand,” Dr. Evans said. “I am honored to serve the Plano Campus and continue partnering with our faculty and staff to help students reach their goals — whether they are transferring to a university, completing a credential, or advancing in the workforce.”

Dr. Evans began his Collin College career as a professor of Music in 2012 and advanced into various campus leadership roles, currently serving as associate provost of the Plano Campus. Dr. Evans earned a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelor of Music from Tennessee Technological University.

“I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve the Wylie and Farmersville Campus communities,” Dr. Bellue said. “I look forward to working alongside our faculty and staff to strengthen academic excellence, support student success, and ensure students have the resources they need to thrive.”

Dr. Bellue currently serves as executive dean of the Collin College Farmersville Campus and previously served as associate dean for Academic Affairs. He brings extensive leadership and operational experience from a nearly three-decade career in the United States Air Force, including senior-level faculty leadership at the Air Command and Staff College. Dr. Bellue earned a Doctor of Education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.
