Collin College Students Bring Home the Gold and Bronze at SkillsUSA National Championships

As if having the World Cup underway here in Texas wasn’t enough, Collin College students are celebrating winning three gold medals and a bronze at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta.

Earlier this month, students from around the country gathered in Atlanta to participate in the SkillsUSA Championships, which, according to SkillsUSA, is the premier showcase of America’s most highly skilled career and technical education students.

The annual event brings together more than 19,000 attendees, including students, instructors, industry partners, government officials, administrators, and employers.

The following Collin students earned medals during the competition:

Rachel Hansen of Celina – Gold, Graphic Communication

Macey Loureiro of Plano – Gold, Photography

Tyler Mathieson of Melissa – Gold, Technical Computer Applications

In a team competition, Lisa Dorman of McKinney and Martin Torres of Blue Ridge brought home a bronze medal for 3D Visualization and Animation.
