Collin College is pleased to announce the appointment of Deanna Kuykendall to its Board of Trustees. Kuykendall is director of government affairs at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association where she leads legislative and regulatory initiatives on behalf of the athletic training profession. She will serve in Place 8 until the next regular Board election in May 2027.
“We were fortunate to have an outstanding group of community members interested in serving Collin College,” said Jay Saad, Board of Trustees chair. “Deanna’s experience, leadership, and commitment to Collin County will be valuable assets to the Board. We are pleased to welcome her and look forward to working together to continue creating opportunities for our students.”
A native Texan and Collin County resident, Kuykendall has a longstanding commitment to civic and community service. She currently serves on the Collin County Child Protective Services Board, McKinney Board of Adjustment, and Community Engagement & Opportunity Council Advisory Board. Her previous service includes the McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission, Foster Friends, Volunteer McKinney Board, Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney Board, and the McKinney YMCA Board.

"Collin College plays an important role in the success of our community and our future generations. I look forward to working alongside my fellow trustees and college leadership to support the college’s mission and help ensure students have access to high-quality education.”
Kuykendall earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 2001 on a speech and debate scholarship. She and her husband of more than 22 years, Chuck, reside in McKinney.
Kuykendall was sworn in as the Place 8 trustee during the Aug. 25 Collin College Board of Trustees meeting.
