Collin College to Host Annual Collin Leadership Policy Summit

Collin College will host its fourth annual Collin Leadership Policy Summit focused on exploring the issues shaping the future of North Texas. The half-day summit will take place from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the college’s Frisco Campus Conference Center. Community members are encouraged to attend. Tickets are still available at www.collin.edu/policysummit, but seating is limited.

“North Texas continues to grow and evolve, and, although no one can control the future, it is clear that the informed decisions we make today will shape the future of our region,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president. “The Collin Leadership Policy Summit will bring together leaders from education, industry, and our communities to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and explore how we can best prepare for the opportunities ahead.”

Bryan Daniel, president of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Texas, will be the featured speaker for the keynote address. Numerous elected officials, business, community, education, and civic leaders will join as panelists for six different panels highlighting the following discussions:

  • Building Texas’ Future: The Role of Higher Education
  • Building the Infrastructure for North Texas’ Growth
  • Finding Common Ground Through Civil Discourse
  • Powering North Texas Through Talent
  • AI Without the Hype: What AI is Actually Changing in Business
  • How Collin County is Powering Economic Development in North Texas

 

      The summit will be held in partnership with several chambers of commerce, including Allen, Greater Anna, Celina, Dallas Regional, Farmersville, Frisco, McKinney, Melissa, Plano, Princeton-Lowry Crossing, Prosper, Richardson, and Wylie. The exclusive title sponsor for the event is the Collin County Business Alliance. 

Collin College serves more than 62,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management, and a new Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Software Development.
