VOCATIONAL NURSING MARKETABLE SKILLS
• Work ethically, legally, responsibly and conscientiously under the Texas Board of
Nursing (TBON) Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Scope of Practice and Code of Conduct.
• Use systematic problem-solving process in the care of multiple patients with predictable
health care needs.
• Operate computer technology by way of electronic medical records (EHR) to maintain
consistency and continuity of patient care.
• Administer medications to patients using safe pharmacological concepts and monitor
the patients for effectiveness, side effects and/or adverse reactions.
• Collect data and information, recognize changes in conditions, and report to the
RN supervisor or another appropriate clinical supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to maximize
best patient outcomes.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and focused nursing care to patients.
