Prof. Aparna Godbole
Aparna Godbole is a Professor of Computer Networking at Collin College. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Mumbai, India. She started her career as Product Design Engineer, working on the
Design & Development team for one of the leading cable manufacturing companies of
India. Her primary role encompassed designing a wide array of electrical cables as
per national and international standards. She was also actively involved in the development
of new cables with intricate designs for special applications. This work required
collaboration with the Research team and involved investigation for new materials
and process engineering. Later, she relocated to United States to pursue a Master's
degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. With focus
on Telecommunications, she completed her thesis in "Performance enhancement of CELP
coded voice communication in wireless environment, using concatenated channel coding".
Aparna got involved in Computer Networking in 2009 and went on to complete her CCNA
certification that year. Although she liked working in the industry, she was passionate
about teaching. She transitioned into academics in 2014 and has taught CCNA courses
at Collin College since. Aparna enjoys teaching and is dedicated to creating a learning-centric
environment for her students. Her teaching philosophy is based on the well-known quote
by Plutarch: "The mind is not an empty vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled".
She has CCNA Security and CCNP certifications and is a qualified CCNA Instructor Trainer.
Aparna resides in Plano with her husband Kaustubh, and their eleven-year-old son
Siddharth. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, jewelry making, and loves
to travel.
