Laura SalanderLaura E Salander, MS, Associate Faculty

Professor Laura Salander holds a Masters in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She has worked as an adjunct professor at Illinois State University, Heartland Community College, and Bradley University, all located in Illinois.  She also currently teaches Criminal Justice classes at Texas A&M Commerce in Commerce, TX.  Professor Salander worked in the social services field for over 10 years before teaching at Collin College and was a program supervisor for The Center for Youth and Family Solutions in Bloomington, Illinois where she worked with delinquency intervention services, homeless and runaway youth, high-risk youth in foster care, and adult incarceration alternative programming including drug court and recovery court.  Professor Salander is certified in Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Washington Aggression Interruption Training (WAIT), both evidence based programs.  She has also been involved with cognitive behavioral programming for juveniles and adults.
