Deb Jones, Adjunct Faculty
Deb Jones has her M.A. in Dance and is certified by the American Tap Dance Institute. She teaches Jazz, Tap and Ballet technique classes throughout the age spectrum of young adults through “Super Seniors” and choreographs for various productions in each of these dance genres. From an academic perspective Deb is involved with course development relating to Dance Appreciation in both the on-line and “face to face” formats. She is a Co-Founder of the Legacy Tap Project who’s mission is to preserve historical tap choreography, has taught tap master classes from the east to the west coast and has been guest faculty with the American College Dance Festival. Deb has shared the stage with international artists and is a past member of the Austin based multi-form tap and jazz performing company, "Tapestry, Too.” As a guest teacher, Deb has taught classical jazz dance in Mexico and has performed historical tap choreography for the Tulum Cultural Center, Tulum, Mexico. Most recently she has been a performer with the Dallas based Timba Tumbao Salsa performing group and last but not least, Deb continues to love being a student of dance.
