Complete the following prerequisite courses
The Collin College PTA Program requires three courses to be completed before admission into the program. The student must upload an official transcript(s) to the PTACAS application portal for all prerequisite courses not taken at Collin College.
  • BIOL 2401 Anatomy and Physiology I
    • Taken within five years from the application submission with a grade of “C” or higher

    • This course is being offered in the Fall of 2022 and the Spring of 2023. It must be completed before admission to the program. It can be taken during the application process.
Register and complete the TEAS Test
The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is designed to assess a student’s preparedness to enter the health science field. Collin College PTA Program applicants must complete the ATI TEAS test before applying to the program. The student is financially responsible for the cost of the ATI TEAS and any study materials needed to prepare for the exam. The scores will be used as part of the application scoring process. Students may take the ATI TEAS up to two times during each application period and must achieve the minimum score required on the different test components. Only scores from one attempt will be used to determine if the application requirements are met. The student will not be able to add one component of the score from the first test and another from the second to meet admission requirements. If taking the test a second time, all examination components must be taken at that time. Students not meeting the minimum required scores will not be considered for admission into the PTA program. The minimum required scores are:
  • Composite = 50%
  • Reading = 60%
  • Human A&P = 50%

Test result scores from ATI TEAS should be uploaded to the PTACAS.

Please go to the ATI TEAS website for registration and preparation materials.
