Collin College will soon provide greater online education access to students across the state as a part of the Texas Statewide Course Sharing Exchange Program.

The exchange program, which is sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), allows students to cross-register for online courses at 24 educational institutions across the state. Collin College will serve as a teaching institution and offer seats to students from course exchange partners. The model increases course options and availability for these students, supporting Texas student completion.

“Collin College is a leader in online education, providing students from across the country with access to the exceptional faculty and resources of our iCollin Virtual Campus,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president. “This program expands that access to students at partner institutions across Texas while removing many of the hurdles they might encounter in searching for and cross-registering at multiple colleges.”

First piloted in 2023, Collin College is part of the Texas Statewide Course Sharing Exchange Program’s expansion from 15 educational institutions to 24 this fall.

Collin College serves more than 60,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management, and a new Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Software Development. The only public college based in Collin County, Collin College is a partner to business, government, and industry, providing customized training and workforce development.
