Collin College Opens Applications for Board of Trustees Vacancy

The Collin College Board of Trustees is seeking to fill a board vacancy for Place 1. Megan Wallace, who served in Place 1 for two years, was elected in May 2023. She resigned this month due to relocation. “The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in our college community, serving residents and providing strategic oversight for the institution’s long-term success,” said Jay Saad, Chairman. “Filling this vacancy is an important responsibility, and we are committed to finding a dedicated individual who will help us continue to uphold our mission of student success.”

Applying for Place 1

To be eligible for consideration for the Collin College Board of Trustees, a candidate must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter, and a resident of Collin County for six continuous months and the state of Texas for 12 continuous months prior to the date the appointment is made. The selected candidate must be willing to commit to reside in Collin County for the duration of the appointment and be available to attend monthly meetings.

Applications will be accepted immediately. The selected individual will be appointed to serve until the next regular election of the Board, which takes place in May 2027. The individual who is duly elected in 2027 would serve the remainder of the Place 1 term. Place 1 expires in May 2029. Trustees can serve an unlimited number of elected terms.

Complete applications with cover letters, resumes, and recommendation letters must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
