Leadership Development Institute (LDI)
The Collin College Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is an academic initiative that incorporates key leadership principles into the curriculum of core courses. Students have the opportunity to explore and develop their personal and professional knowledge and skills and abilities in the area of leadership as it is associated with a specific core discipline while gaining core course credits.
LDI is dedicated to the development of leaders through education and provides experiential opportunities for students seeking to make a positive difference in their lives and in the community.
LDI classes may partner with the Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) co-curricular program for many activities, including the following events:
- Interview current Leaders
- Leadership in the Movies
- Readings, Discussions and Debates
- Museum Scanvanger Hunts
- ROPES Course
- Guest Speakers
- Leadership skills: visioning, resume writing, Communication, ethics and more
- Team Building Activites
- And Much More.....
Key leadership topics integrated into core courses include communication, problem solving, decision-making, ethics and more.
