Step 1:   Complete the Collin College Application for Admission.  

International student applications must have accurate student information, including your foreign country address to issue an I-20 (foreign country address cannot be a p.o. box).

 

Step 2: Official TOEFL (institution code: 6805) or IELTS scores must be submitted with the following minimum scores to be considered college-level ready:

             TOEFL--internet Based Test (iBT) score 71 
              IELTS--6.5 or higher 
              or
             TOEFL exemptions

TOEFL/IELTS scores will not exempt you from Texas Success Initiative (TSI) needed to determine your college placement.  For more information about TSI Assessment and exemptions click here.

 

English as a Second Language Program (ESL)

TOEFL or IELTS scores for the English Language Program must be submitted with the following minimum scores:

                IELTS--4.5 (4.0 minimum in each skill)

TOEFL iBT 32 (8 minimum in each skill)

Step 3: Complete the F-1 Intention to Apply AND provide supporting documentation (English translation required) for at least one of the following:

  • Bank statement showing balance equal or greater than $26,000 dated within 6 months of application deadline.

Parents, relatives, friends, or

U.S. Sponsor

  • Letter of guarantee from sponsor AND
  • Bank statement showing balance equal or greater than $26,000 dated within 6 months of application deadline.

Your Government

  • Official letter confirming type and amount of financial aid.

 

Step 4: Submit transcripts from foreign high school or college; unofficial transcripts acceptable (English translated). Collin College requires proof of secondary school leaving qualification equivalent to the U.S. high school diploma.

 

Step 5: A copy of the front page of your passport showing your name, country of origin, and expiration date with a minimum of 6 months validity.

 

Step 6: Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine is required of all students who are under the age of 22 at least 10 days before the start of the semester. 

Step 7: Mail or email all required documents found in steps 2 through 6 to:

Step 8:
Before you make an appointment at the American Consulate for your F-1 VISA click on the SEVIS I-901 fee payment link and print the receipt.
