The Collin College Dance Department is a place for all movers to study, connect, engage, and explore dance. We support the beginning and the experienced dancer through multiple levels of modern, jazz, ballet, tap, world dance, and ballroom in addition to courses in performance, improvisation, choreography, and dance appreciation. The Collin College Dance Department’s comprehensive approach to dance education includes the physical, historical, critical, cultural and fundamental elements of dance as an art form.

Students seeking an immersive experience in dance may audition for the student dance company, Collin Dance Ensemble (CDE). CDE performs contemporary modern dance works and annually attends and performs at the American College Dance Association (ACDA) regional conference. CDE has received the Gala Award ten times, which is unprecedented for a two-year program, and performed at the ACDA national conference in 2008. Auditions for the dance company are held each August.

Whether you are dancing for personal enrichment or pursuing an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in dance, Collin College offers a variety of classes with affordable tuition. Please email us at dance@collin.edu to discuss your future in the Dance Department at Collin College. We look forward to dancing with you.
