May 18, 2022 Collin Colleges Plano Campus will offer two eight-week semesters this fall as a scheduling option. Fall registration is open now at www.collin.edu.
Eight-week courses meet one or two days a week for a longer class period than courses offered on a traditional 16-week schedule. The longer class period allows students to focus more intently on a subject in those eight weeks while staying on track with their long-term educational goals.
For example, students who want to earn 12 credit hours in Fall 2022 can take two courses in each of the eight-week semesters instead of four courses spread over 16 weeks. This option allows students to put their educational efforts into two subjects at one time rather than splitting their focus with four subjects while still earning 12 hours for the same time period.
If you want to complete a course faster with greater concentration on a subject, eight-week semesters are a great option, said Dr. Mary Barnes-Tilley, provost of the Plano Campus. We are proud to offer this innovative scheduling opportunity at the Plano Campus.
Two Fall 2022 eight-week terms are available: Aug. 22-Oct. 25 and Oct. 17-Dec. 10. A complete list of course offerings is available at www.collin.edu/campuses/springcreek/index.html#EightWeek.
Fall classes begin on Aug. 22. Registration for all Fall 2022 courses is available through Aug. 25.
