Jury Duty Leave Benefits
Court Jury Duty
A full-time or part-time Collin College employee who is called for jury duty shall not have a deduction made from his/her salary or wages for time served when the employee was otherwise scheduled to work. Leave reports should be completed to reflect scheduled work hours missed on that day(s) due to jury duty. An employee who receives a summons to report for jury duty should inform his/her supervisor as soon as possible regarding the date and time required to report for jury duty. The jury summons form and/or attendance verification letter from the court clerk must be presented along with an Application for Leave form.
An employee who responds to the summons and appears for the jury selection process but is not selected to be a member of a jury is expected to return to work when dismissed that day.
An Application for Leave form with a copy of the jury duty summons or proof of jury duty served should be forwarded to the HR Records Team at the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC) in McKinney.
